Chailengta Govt. English Medium HS School is situated at Chailengta, the headquarters of Longtharai Valley Sub-division. It is one of the most important institutions that imparts quality education to the children of the locality with its dedicated staff. The children of the school come from different areas of the subdivision from all walks of life.
Today’s Chailengta Govt. English Medium HS School has been established in the year 2004 as a Junior Basic School. As it has been started from class one, it took a pretty long time to see its own up-gradation. The school is upgraded into an Upper Primary school in the year 2009. Later on, it is upgraded to high school in the year 2013 and subsequently into a higher secondary school in the year 2017.
The school has a team of young and dynamic teaching and non-teaching staff. The teachers strive hard to maintain punctuality and discipline all the time. The learners and the teachers are divided into four Houses. There is always a sort of competition among each teacher and each student to deliver excellence for their own House and this fair amount of competitive mind paves the way for achieving greater success for the school. The teaching community, besides teaching, also contribute to non-teaching activities of the school like games and sports as well as in cultural activities.
Initially, our school was affiliated to Tripura Board of Secondary Education but with the initiative of our popular government our school along with 19 other schools of Tripura have been affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education in 2019. Our first batch of students appeared in the AISSCE and AISSE examination in the academic year 2021-22. Both the classes have performed very well and passed with higher percentage of marks.
Our school is one of those proud schools in Tripura in which Vidyajyoti project under Mission 100 is launched. At present the school is lacking building infrastructure.
